Oh, boy. This was my favorite shoot of the entire summer with Erin Johnson Photography. Natalie is stunning and has a natural ease in front of the camera. And her outfits!?! To die for. Adorable. It was the typical summer evening in Minnesota: bug filled, a brilliant sunset, a little humid, but a cool breeze blowing off the lake. The location, the subject. Everything just seemed to fall into place! This didn't come without a bit of learning though: I will never again set my camera to shoot in jpeg format. I get it. It was one of those moments in life that you experience occasionally and often if you are lucky. The satisfactory feeling of growing and loving what I do. I am a lucky one.

Minneapolis Photographer | Saturday Morning Rockets

On a rainy Saturday morning in March a bunch of engineers and their kiddos got together to launch rockets. What better place than the middle of the Lake Reshanau? Winter is long in Minnesota and we like to find new and sometimes adventurous activities. John, Matt's co-worker, and his son have gotten into model rockets and we were excited to join in on the fun. After you launch the rocket, it flies hundreds of feet into the air. Then the parachute opens and you have to search for it. The tricky part is seeing it as it opens and then keeping an eye on it as it falls to the ground. After the first launch, we learned our lesson that binoculars made it much easier to search out the parachute and find it after landing. Boomer came along and he was having a blast running around the lake and through the cattails. Then the rockets started going off. Not such a fan. Even though it was wet and soggy, we survived and only managed to loose one parachute. Overall, success!

Minneapolis Newborn Photographer | Baby Addison

I love newborns. Such an amazing thing to meet them for the first time and to see new parents learning all about their new addition. Their tiny hands and feet, soft skin, and their sleepiness which makes you want to snuggle them. I tagged along with Erin Johnson Photography and we got to meet this new family together. Little Addison was just the sweetest and her new parents loved bundling her up for some hugs!

Minnesota Photographer | Nicole and Alex

Nicole and Alex had the most beautiful day for their outdoor ceremony and reception in rural Minnesota. The fall colors were stunning and the sun was bright and warm. I joined Erin Johnson Photography and we had a great time on the farm at this wedding. Since there were so many inspiring locations to shoot, our creative energy was flowing! Overall, a gorgeous day, an amazing location, and a wonderful couple!
