Minneapolis Photographer | 2013 Favorites

I know, I know. I should have done this right away in the New Year and now it's almost February. Oh, well. At least it's not June. Better late than never!

So for every session I have, there are always one or two images that stick out in my head for months after. Sometimes it's not the ones you would think. I wanted to highlight a few of those from 2013.

I feel like this first one needs a little explination. Last year I shot a wedding on my own. Now I have photographed many weddings as the second photographer (blog post on that soon to come), but this was the first time I was the lead photographer. I have plenty of images of the bride and groom and the wedding party where they all look stunning. (Not joking. Check out the blog post here.) But this image was by far my favorite. As a surprise to the groom,  during the reception the bride's family sat him down and performed a dance flash mob style. It. Was. Amazing. It started out slow with just a few relatives, but eventually everyone joined in. Even the bride's grandma who wasn't incredibly mobile, danced along with them.

St. Anthony Main Engagement Photographer | Emily and Justin

Emily and Justin are such an adventurous couple! They enjoy being outside and really wanted to have outdoor images for their session, so we braved the negative temperatures and headed out. It really was not above zero that day....Yikes! And for Emily who is from the east coast, this is her first winter here in Minnesota. To warm each other up, lots of  snuggling and squeezing was needed. Regardless of the temperature, Justin and Emily were so carefree and shared lots of laughs. They were die-hards and powered through the cold and I would definitely say it was well worth it!

After the cold got to us and our coats didn't seem to be keeping us warm anymore, we headed to a little cafe in the area.  What better way to recover from the windchill than scooching close to your fiance and a warm latte in a cozy cafe?

So glad I had the chance to meet Emily and Justin-they are really caring, friendly people and I wish them the best with their wedding out east in May.  I have such great memories from their session!

Minneapolis Pet Photographer | Luna

Our awesome new neighbors got a puppy earlier this spring. Really, I guess they are not really our new neighbors anymore since they have lived next door for about a year now, but they are pretty awesome! It is exciting to know there are more people moving into the neighborhood who are younger and own their homes rather than renting. We love our location and are glad that others see the value of the area.

Aaaanyway. They have this adorable puppy who is rambunctious and playful-just as a puppy should be! I love her spots and coloring.  Pretty unique, right? It will be interesting to see if they change as she gets older. When they first got her, she was actually much smaller than she is now. Before she got too much bigger, I stopped over to capture some of her craziness!

Minneapolis Wedding Photographer | Lindsey and Paul

This was such an amazing wedding. I know, you're thinking, "Amazing you say? How is that?" First of all, Lindsey and Paul are my good friends and it was such an honor that they asked me to capture their day. They had a beautiful day for their wedding as well, even though it had snowed twelve inches or so two days before their wedding AND it was the end of April. Crazy weather, but they both stayed calm through it all. Their energy and unpredictability throughout the day, from everyone at the wedding, provided lots of excitement. From the wedding party playing flip cup, to the groom busting out his guitar and playing for the guests, and last but certainly not least the bride's family performing a flash mob for Paul. Such an awesome day with a couple that is truly perfect for each other!
