Minneapolis Event Photographer | No Man's String Band CD Release

No Man's String Band is a fantastic bluegrass group in the Twin Cities. They have a bunch of their own material, hence the CD release, and it is great music. Even if bluegrass is not really your thing, you should check them out. They play monthly at Harriet Brewing, a microbrewery smack-dab in the middle of Minneapolis, which is also where their CD release party took place. Not only can you hear great music, you can get some delicious beer too-A win-win situation!

Family Photographer | Vanderpool Family

Yep, my nephew and brother and sister-in-law. Always fun to see them, especially because we don't see them often enough! When back in Michigan, I couldn't help but take some images of my nephew. Of course I'm bias, but really....he. is. adorable. Check out those eyelashes. Wowzers! They go on for days. And he is quite the charmer too! A few times when I was playing with him and Uncle Matt came to play too, he told Matt, "Uncle Matt, go." Too funny!
Can't wait to see how this little man grows and changes as he gets older!

Vanderpool Cottage

There is a cottage in my husband's family that has been in their family for years. His cousins and aunts and uncles have lots of fond memories there since in the summer, they would all spend most of their time there. When all of the aunts and uncles were older and moved to other states, they still would make it back for at least a week out of the year with their kids to stay at the cottage. My understanding is that it was built to be a club house for a golf course, but after they had finished building it, they decided they wanted it in a different place and built another one. My husband's great grandma purchased the lake home when there were few, if any, other homes on the lake. It is a beautiful place with a prime location. This year we all got together to celebrate their grandma's 95th birthday. Check out all of the great grandkids she has! Pretty amazing...

As you can see, there is always lots of adventure at the cottage: skiing, sailing, and fort building but the addition this year was a zipline. Also at the end of the week, the whole family piled onto my father-in-law's boat and we went swimming in the middle of Lake St. Clair. Jumping off the top of the boat is the best way to get in, but it's about a fifteen foot drop. And from that high up on a rocking boat, it takes a little courage!

Overall, wonderful company, delicious food, sunny weather....great week!

This little man was the happiest guy for his session! He was having a blast in the studio laughing so hard at his parents. Such a little goof ball! Last year I took his photos just before the holidays and, wow, has he ever changed since then! He's taller, or longer depending on who you ask, and his hair has gotten so much longer.  It's amazing how such little time can go by, yet how different they look and act. Well, here he is in all of his nine months!

Our awesome new neighbors got a puppy earlier this spring. Really, I guess they are not really our new neighbors anymore since they have lived next door for about a year now, but they are pretty awesome! It is exciting to know there are more people moving into the neighborhood who are younger and own their homes rather than renting. We love our location and are glad that others see the value of the area.

Aaaanyway. They have this adorable puppy who is rambunctious and playful-just as a puppy should be! I love her spots and coloring.  Pretty unique, right? It will be interesting to see if they change as she gets older. When they first got her, she was actually much smaller than she is now. Before she got too much bigger, I stopped over to capture some of her craziness!
